As somebody who has got to know a lot of offenders, mostly hands-off, non-violent types like myself, it’s horrible how little there is out there for rehabilitation and recovery. Nobody’s crimes should be excused, but these are turbulent waters and giving people who are ill-equipped the burden of wearing a Scarlett Letter the rest of their lives shows how broken the system truly is.
